There are many things to consider while designing a website for yourself or for your clients. Creativity is what makes your design unique and different from others. First, you must plan all the things and then move to designing. Balancing all things before designing will make it more easy and convenient for you.

Here are five things to be considered for a good web design that everyone should know while building or designing a website:

Colour scheme

Select colours which are according to your company and stick to them. For effective colour combination, consider using the combination of dark colours with light colours. Make sure, your colour scheme must be according to your target audience. If your target audience is corporate, then use subtle colours, if its youth then use bright colours which attract them.

Physical appearance or layout

Physical appearance of the website is something which is considered as core aspect of web designing. As we know, people won’t stick to things which don’t attract them, same in the case of website design. People won’t stay for long on that website which is designed in an unprofessional way. So, you must make the physical appearance of your website as much as professional as you can.

Backgrounds

Make sure that the background you are using for your website should be subtle so that the content is not difficult to read. Try not to use textured background as they make it very difficult to read anything. Plain backgrounds are the best for any website.

External links

If you are including external links to your website, ensure that they will open in a new window and not in same window where your website is open. This way the visitors will not go anywhere, they can come back to your website looking for more links.

Content

Content is the essential part of the website. Make sure your content is good enough or easily understandable by the visitors. Your content depends upon the purpose of your website, make sure your content must be effective and informative.
